"Fabulous time in Morocco"
I wanted to let you know that we had a fabulous time in Morocco! It was hard to come home (although we did miss our air conditioning, flush toilets with toilet paper and cold pure water!) I want to thank you and all of our guides and the riad owners for helping me to get my luggage. It was missing since my arrival in Fez on Sunday- I finally got it on Wednesday night in Marrakesh . All of the tour guides/drivers and riad owners were very patient and understanding and if it were not for them, I might not have ever seen my luggage again.

Day 3: Marrakech
After breakfast at your accommodations your guide will meet you for a private walking tour of the city.
While Fez was the center of learning and culture, Marrakech to the south was more of a Berber camp behind high walls. It was transient, colorful, and exciting, a sprawling country market set in the middle of a palm-fringed plain. As time passed, focus shifted from Fez to Marrakech filling the city with palaces, monuments, gardens, and tourists. But through it all, the city stays true to its colorful roots.
Your guided walking tour of the city will include admissions to the significant sights in Marrakech. Starting when the guide meets you at your accommodations, you'll see such sights as the Saadian Tombs and the Bahai Palace, the Koutoubia mosque, the famous souks and the historic medersas, ending at the Djema el Fna square by lunch.
From there you can continue to explore and discover Marrakech on your own. Armed with a feel for the city, you'll find Marrakech a much easier city to navigate than Fez. If you want to escape the rush, the Garden Menara is the place with its tranquil basin and olive groves set against the Atlas Mountains. You'll be on your own for dinner. You'll find many restaurants with fine meals, or you could venture into the Djemaa el Fna where dining is more than a meal, it's an adventure.
