Day 5: Wood Working & Weaving

After breakfast at your accommodations, you'll be head back into the souks for a morning with the wood workers.  Unlike the day before with the leather, the wood comes ready to work and won't involve large vats and dyes..  You'll spend the morning cutting, joining, turning, carving, and painting.  You'll be tuning pieces of cedar and olive into a variety of  projects from the utilitarian to the decorative.  Then a break for lunch before starting on the next craft.

Moroccan fashions come to life from a mixture of design and fabric. Hand spun and hand dyed silk and cotton alone are of little interest.  But with a wood loom the threads are mixed and woven into glistening fabrics of intricate design.  There's something more meaningful to a piece of cloth when you know what was involved in its making, and even more meaning when you've made it yourself.  You'll spend the afternoon first learning how to work the wooden looms, then try your hand at weaving.. (Breakfast, Lunch)
