The night before your adventure:

You will make your own way to the Hotel Sahara, M'hamid, a former French Foreign Legion barracks on the edge of the desert, where you will be spending the night.  While there you will have a chance to refresh and prepare for the adventure that awaits. (Dinner)

Day 1:

Your caravan departs early in the morning.  Camels will be loaded with everything you need for your journey.  After a lesson on driving your own camel, you and your guide begin the journey away from everything and into the harsh and beautiful Sahara.  From this point on, your days will be spent riding 3 hours every morning and 2 hours every evening.  (Breakfast, Lunch Dinner)

Day 2:

After an early morning breakfast, your camels are saddled and loaded and your journey continues.  At 11:00 your caravan stops and lunch is served.  Then as the noon day air heats, the winds pickup and the sand starts to swirl.  You hunker down, pulling your turban up over your mouth and eyes to keep the sand out.  As the sun starts to set and the winds die down, camels are herded back in and you ride for another 2 hours and make camp for the evening.  (Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner)

Day 3:

You have crossed rock strewn Reg, hot and forbidding without any sign of life except the marjie that play tricks on the eyes.  Then, rising out of the heat is a 300' wall of sand, as far as the eye can see.  The Erg Zhigaga!  By lunch you arrive at our camp at the base of the dunes.  The rest of the day is yours to explore and marvel at this bounding sea of sand.  (Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner)

Day 4:

With food and water half exhausted, it is time to head back to M'hamid.  Your ride starts early, interrupted only by lunch and perhaps a howling sandstorm.  (Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner)

Day 5:

This is your last full day in the desert.  Your supplies will hold for another 36 hours.  Enjoy your sleep that night, under the boundless Sahara sky for tomorrow you will be in the Hotel Sahara. (Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner)

Day 6:

Half day of riding and you return to M'hamid.  You will have a room waiting for you at the Hotel Sahara and a well deserved and much needed shower.  Take all the time you want, dinner will be waiting for you. (Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner)
